you are right pinky,peter lee, David is at aveley, and Che, Sam was, but i hear that he has been given a years contract at LEAGUE ONE YEOVIL TOWN , Sam and David both are part of the NIKE ACADEMY, and play games against other academy's , this is were yeovil spotted SAM, i for one wish him all the best , its no more than the lad deserves, good luck SAM!!

Last gasp injury time goal wins thriller for East Thurrock

Other than the disappointing result, losing 3-4 in the 3rd minute of injury time, this was a most enjoyable, open match played by the two local teams.

Table topping East Thurrock played several of their first team, and right from the beginning the signs were clear that the Thurrock defence would have a difficult evening. East Thurrock made several attacks down the wings with dangerous crosses whizzing across the goal.

As early as the 8th minute East Thurrock scored their first goal through Joe Stevens, when they easily cut through the defence and our travelling army of supporters were worried what was to come.

However, three minutes later, a piece of class play by Matt Jugde led to the equaliser. Judge held up the ball and put through a great pass to Dave Bryant who calmly beat the East Thurrock keeper. The smiles were back on the faces of the Fleet supporters!

Both teams continued to attack and there were some good tackles from the Thurrock back four, a particularly awesome one from Andrews that may well have saved another goal.

The Fleet's number 7, Les Thompson, showed some amazing pace down the right wing, and the 8, Chris Saunders looked very promising with his awareness, passing and attacking play.

There were several good saves from the Fleet keeper and man of the match Arron Omand, who gave a class performance all night, and had no chance with any of the goals the team conceded. A particularly amazing one to his top left hand corner illustrated his agility.

At the other end Richard Wray, the East Thurrock keeper, constantly showed he too was an excellent keeper when a remarkable double save from Bryant and then Gilbey stopped what we fans thought was a certain goal. Another save followed soon after from a header by Gilbey.

Half- time 1-1

Thurrock came out in the second half continuing to produce some great attacking play but found Richard Wray the East Thurrock keeper still in outstanding form.

The Fleet took the lead on 62 minutes through Dave Bryant and had chances to score more, but East Thurrock equalised through Sam Higgins in the 73rd minute.

Five minutes later substitute Matt Bodkin scored a great goal to make it 3-2 and the Fleet continued to attack. However, Joe Stevens scored his second for the East to make the score 3-3

Both teams continued to press and in the third minute of extra time yet another great save by Omand when he was isolated at the back, but Sam Higgins was able to follow up and score and leave the result a 4-3 win for the East.

I was initially dispappointed to see a mainly reserve team take to the field against East Thurrock tonight, but the performance of the team would have done the first team proud. Omand,Andrews,Newell,Libby,Vallondyne,Gilbey,Thomp son,Saunders,Bryant,Judge,Doyle and subsitute Bodkin, hold your heads up high.
We lost 4-3 but we showed we have real depth to our squad. Goalkeeper Omand was a colossus tonight and didn't deserve to be on the losing side.
We are the Fleet !

Football Manager 2010 - Thurrock Fan Needed!

Hello Thurrock Fans!

I am looking for a Thurrock fan who plays the Football Manager series (recently featured on the Non League Daily and Non League Paper) to help out in the research terms for the game.

Would any objective season ticket holder or regular matchgoer like to help? The task involves giving as-accurate-as-possible ratings to every aspect of each player's game, including reserves and youth players, plus keeping us up to date of all transfers at the club, as well as their financial position. In fact, if it is in the database for your club, we want your help to keep it updated! We would expect you to consider yourself THE authority on your club, rather than being a passive observer of them.

The work involves a thrice-yearly thorough working through of the data file, using a provided editing package that is simple to use.

The rest of the year, we obviously need to be kept up to date with transfers and contract news, as well as info on the club debts/finances, so that every bit of information that FM uses about your club is as accurate as it can be. That is the task of the researcher to provide the info, and to be up to date with the news there.

So, it will be the appointed researcher's call as to how your manager's designated formations, or your first-team goalkeeper's decisions attribute read in the expected post-transfer window data update for FM2010. We would prefer the researcher to be a local to the town, to be best positioned to attend as many games as possible.

We do not pay, unfortunately, although all researchers are integrated into our research team and if you do a good job you could be eligible for a free copy of the game!!!

Please email me if you're in a position to lend a hand. Your help would be much appreciated.
